Aesthetic Dermatology

The field of aesthetic dermatology has evolved in an incredibly dynamic manner to holistically meet today’s patients growing skin care goals. Our patients benefit from our comprehensive portfolio of procedural platforms which, depending on their profile and selected interventions, may result in immediately visible results without compromising their work or social commitments.

We find gentle, early intervention to be instrumental in preserving, restoring, and rejuvenating skin health and quality. At The Dermatology Room™, we believe the importance we place in listening effectively to our patients’ concerns followed by the detailed analysis of their skin in terms of medical and aesthetic indices allows for us to safely and effectively tailor an individualized management plan which they are most comfortable with.

We find our philosophy of working toward a natural restoration of facial structure that congruently reflects their personality and mindset resonates deeply with the patients who have entrusted their care to us.

Neurotoxin

The treatment is specially formulated purified protein, which relaxes the specific muscles into which they are injected. This helps reduce the appearance of fine lines or soften facial muscles where disharmony in their balance or strength detract from the congruency of mood from intended projected expression.

Key to all our patients is a conservative injection technique, with goal being softening of movement which allows for a natural appearance. I find a subtle, tailored distribution helps my patients keep disclosure of interventions at their own discretion. – Dr Lev
Is the treatment safe?

The treatment has been FDA approved for cosmetic usage since 2002. Only licensed and trained healthcare professionals have the experience necessary to administer the treatment.

Fillers

REPLENISH VOLUME AND REFRESH YOUR LOOK

Filler is composed of hyaluronic acid, a substance that occurs naturally in the skin. With time the skin breaks down more hyaluronic acid than it has capacity to replenish, with altered volumes in the facial scaffolding presenting as a forward and downward facial soft tissue migration, commonly and perhaps a little unkindly referred to as facial sagging.

At The Dermatology Room™ our philosophy is not to chase lines with filler which can result in a heavy unnatural facial appearance, but rather to assess our patients and determine the source of volume alteration and thereby direct a more conservative filler volume into strategic anatomical locations to facilitate a natural, subtle restoration of facial architecture. Each patient’s beauty lies inherently in their uniqueness and restoration at The Dermatology Room™ always respects this understanding. – Dr Lev
Soft Tissue Filler Indications:
  • Tear Troughs or dark circles beneath the eyes
  • Lips- Restoration of volume and subtle optimisation of lip architecture
  • Restoration of cheek and temple volume
  • Jawline and chin definition
  • Softening of facial appearance in females
  • Strengthening of facial appearance in males
  • Slimming of facial profile
  • Facial reshaping: Restoration of stronger chin and jawline
HOW WE DO FILLERS DIFFERENTLY
NEEDLE-LESS INJECTIONS

If you’re considering filler treatment but a fear of needles is holding you back, Dr. Lev can use a micro-cannula technique to deliver fillers in a safe and comfortable manner.  A micro-cannula slides under the skin for an easier placement of dermal fillers.

WHAT IS A MICRO-CANNULA?

A micro-cannula is a very thin, tiny, flexible hollow tube with a smooth round tip.  The sharp end is gone!  Instead of many needle sticks, we only need a few to provide entry points for the cannula.

That means fewer needle marks, less pain and far less probability of bruising.

Can I receive Neurotoxin injections at the same time?

Neurotoxin injections and dermal fillers work on different parts of the face, with the former softening facial expression and the latter restoring depleted facial volume . Many patients combine the two procedures which facilitates a more natural, refreshed appearance.

* Please see patient guidelines for pre- and post- dermal filler care

Skin Boosters

The skin should always be supple, fresh, and bathed in hydration. This helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and crepiness caused by depletion of hydration capacity and natural moisturising factors in your skin. Skin hydration is a major part of skincare, which is often overlooked for the benefit of more advanced anti-ageing techniques.

At The Dermatology Room™, we are excited to offer the ground-breaking new skin care concept of Skin Boosters. This hyaluronic acid preparation allows for a deep and maintained restoration of natural skin hydration.

To maintain and prolong the results of these treatments, we recommend a supportive skincare regime to optimise your skin’s projected radiance.

Skin Booster Indications:
  • Tired and dry skin
  • Signs of skin aging
  • Acne scarring
  • Thin skin

Chemical peel

At The Dermatology Room™ Dr Lev has been very particular in sourcing safe, clinically effective chemical peels that may be used across all skin types, including skin with pigment. A chemical peel comprises topical application of a chemical solution that removes dead skin cells and imperfections, stimulating the renewal of the skin and speeding up its natural cellular regeneration processes, such as elastin, collagen and hyaluronic acid synthesis. Peels are effective supportive measures in assisting patients with concerns of acne-prone or pigment- afflicted skin. It is a relatively quick procedure that our patients appreciate for clinical improvement and ease of incorporation into their time-constrained schedules.

Indications for chemical peels
  • Acne-prone or oily skin
  • Pore refinement
  • Pigmentation improvement
  • Textural improvement in skin
  • Reduction of fine lines in skin
  • Improved radiance in the skin
  • Keratosis Pilaris
Treatment Areas

Chemical peels are commonly used on the face but can be used on other body areas such as the chest, back, shoulders and arms to eliminate lines, freckles, or age spots or pigmentation.  Patients with more extensive sun damage on the legs can also be treated with chemical peels.

Morpheus 8

Morpheus 8

The naming of this device was inspired by its ability to morph the skin’s structural framework to contour the face and the body. Morpheus 8, combining concurrent radiofrequency and microneedling treatment arms, is the revolutionary regenerative modality taking the aesthetic market by storm. It offers remodelling capabilities in the absence of surgery by sculpting the fat layer in the skin, stimulating fibroblasts to produce collagen conferring a firming effect and retexturising the surface of the skin. Most importantly for our patients is the delivery of these dramatic results, visible from the first treatment session, without any limiting downtime.

Morpheus 8 is the most advanced fractional resurfacing treatment available, reaching depths of up to 4mm in the face allowing us to target skin and subdermal adipose tissue to tighten and lift all layers of the skin.

The silicone-coated needles also ensure that the surface of the skin only receives minimal heating, minimising the risk of pigmentation and making it safe for use in all skin types.

Our patients love the procedure for its ability to improve the appearance of hooded eyelids, heavy lower lids, jowls , the double chin appearance as well as its ability to slim the neck profile, soften horizontal necklace lines and restore a healthier skin appearance and texture over the decolletage area.

The Morpheus 8 now comes with specific tips for the eye are and body allowing us to address any area of the skin that may be of concern.

This is one of my favourite treatments at the practice as it aligns with my approach of respecting the individuals inherent facial structure and helps me steer my therapeutic palette in a more natural manner whilst still delivering long-lasting results. It offers unprecedented results, and will be of huge benefit to those looking to delay the use of filler or avoid surgical downtime.
